Pallet Flow Racking
Pallet Flow Racking is a high-density storage solution designed to optimize warehouse flow and ensure efficient stock management, particularly in high-turnover operations. Based on gravity flow technology, pallets automatically move from the loading side to the picking side, ensuring First In, First Out (FIFO) rotation while reducing handling time.
At ETRIL, we design, supply and install Pallet Flow Racking systems tailored to the specific requirements of each warehouse, considering product type, throughput volume and operational needs.
What is Pallet Flow Racking?
Pallet Flow Racking consists of steel structures equipped with slightly inclined roller lanes that allow controlled pallet movement by gravity. Pallets are loaded on one side of the rack and automatically travel to the discharge face, remaining constantly available for picking.
This configuration creates a clear separation between loading and unloading aisles, improving operational flow and reducing interference between material handling equipment.
The system operates under the FIFO principle (First In, First Out), meaning the first pallet loaded is the first to be retrieved. It is particularly suitable for perishable goods, batch-controlled products and operations requiring strict inventory rotation.
Main Applications
Pallet Flow Racking is widely used in logistics warehouses, distribution centers and industrial facilities handling high-turnover or time-sensitive products. It is ideal for operations where rapid pallet access and organized inbound and outbound flow are critical.
The system is well suited for environments that require operational efficiency combined with strict inventory control, contributing to more predictable and structured stock management.
Advantages of Pallet Flow Racking
One of the key advantages of Pallet Flow Racking is improved productivity through reduced handling time and gravity-assisted pallet movement. The continuous flow of goods minimizes manual intervention and enhances overall warehouse performance.
The system also improves warehouse organization by separating loading and unloading zones, reducing congestion and increasing operational safety. The structure can be engineered for different pallet weights and dimensions, ensuring stability, reliability and long-term durability in intensive environments.
